Device for generating soundscapes from environmental variables.
Aria~ is a portable music system that creates soundscapes based on environmental variables. Designed as an outdoor on-the-go experience, the device is equipped with a range of sensors : wind speed, ambient light intensity, location, altitude and electromagnetic activity. Those fluctuations are used to modify melodies, intensities or rhythmic parameters.
Somewhere between an active musical instrument and a passive sound diffuser, Aria~ can be used while walking, but also when stationary, mounted on a mast to take the form of a standalone beacon. Multiple devices can be combined to form a spatialised polyphonic orchestra.
