At a time when artificial intelligence technologies are playing an increasingly important role in creative fields, this essay offers another way of looking at generative processes. Émergence Artificielle is a free wander through a non-exhaustive, multidisciplinary selection of works using artificial systems that we would not call intelligent, but from which unexpected properties emerge that are sometimes comparable in richness to the most fascinating natural phenomena.
