Bande Originale is an interactive sound art installation that takes the concept of tape loop to spatial dimension. It consists of a long magnetic tape traveling between multiple recorders, writing the ambient sound (street and public) on tape, and speakers, reading and diffusing sound from tape. This creates long echoes due to feedback and blurs the spectator’s sense of time. Over time, the tape accumulates the sounds, resulting in a fuzzy noise at the end of the day. Each morning, at the gallery opening, the tape is replaced by a blank one.
